Concept Art

Where Ideas are tested and expanded upon.

Twin Hectic Temper

Twin Hectic Temper is a video game that I am trying to make on my own. It is a shooter that involve using fire and ice elements as part of the gameplay. If you look below, you will see the title screen and the 2 ships that the player will play as.

The Title Screen for Twin Hectic Temper

The Ship for Bella O' Zero (aka Blue ship)

The Ship for Farah N. Heit (aka Red Ship)

Project: Imagination

Project Imagination was another video game project that me and a friend got involved with. Throughout the plans and discussions we were going back and forth about what the style and settings should be. We were designing loads of stuff from characters, to items, to animals, to landscape etc. And as you can probably tell this was a tall order, and unfortunately this proved to be too ambitious to start development on just yet. While it may be shelved til who knows when, these concept arts are readily available for viewing.

Below: These are concept art for the main character of Project Imagination (it's ordered from oldest to newest respectively)

First Draft

Second Draft

Third Draft

(more finalized)

Below: These are concept art for the 'Captain' character. Here You can see what kind of body he would've had, and what kind of clothes he would wear.

Below: Here we have one of the item that was going to be used. It was a phone like device that ran on a crystal. It would've been used to call in support or get a ride.

Below: And here we have the gates. My friend that I was working with wanted to put magical gates in this game and each having their own elements. On the left you can see half of a regular gate, and one the right you can see a whole gate with an earth/forest theme.

Bullet Betty

Bullet Betty is a scrapped idea for a video game that I had a while ago. It would've been a cel-shaded third person shooter starring a spunky and crazy woman named Bullet Betty. while the idea may be scrapped, there are still elements that I can recycle later on hopefully.

Above: Here is a rough draft of the title screen.

Above: Here is a rough concept of your typical common enemy I called the Cod-Head. He would've been pretty much like a goomba from the Mario games. I designed as a joke character that satirically portrays your average Call of Duty player. (hint the military theme attire, the annoying dated slang he spouts out, and the fact that Call of Duty spells out COD).

Above: This is Madame. She is a run down mechanical fortune teller that was designed to give the player hints for cash. (and yes she does have a spatula for a hand).

Organism Trail

Organism Trail was an idea for a video game that one of my friends had, he hired my to make the assets and I happily obliged. It was pretty much a gross out spoof of the classic Oregon Trail, and the player would play as a parasitic worm and the goal was to try to survive as long as you can while laying eggs. Unfortunately I have not heard much about this project recently and as far as I know it was scrapped. The only thing I have left from this project is a rough concept of the Parasite (Left), and the background for the mouth (Right).

Debby & Duster Project

First started out as a sketch (seen below) I really liked how my character turned out. So much so, for my capstone project thesis. I wanted to make a game about her and her talking vacuum.

Both Debby and Duster would go through some design changes. Debby would be more cutesy and circular, and Duster would later become a vacuum backpack.

To bring them fully to life and to showcase exactly what kind of game I had in mind for Debby and Duster, I commissioned an animator by the name of Hermit Panda to help me animate Debby & Duster while I animated the Dust Bunny enemy. This was the end result.

The Poison Green

This was for a UK team, Faraway Industries. They were working on a point and click indie game called The Poison Green. They wanted me to make an elevator with poisonous air (hint the greenish tone of the elevator). Another fun fact about this piece, it was originally made for a certain scene that the team was going to cut but thanks to this piece, they kept it in.

Below is another additional art that I provided for the game. This was for a scene in which the player would have a close up view of a laptop in a first person perspective. It's worth noting that in the image was touched up by another person for the finished product. So what you see here is actually the base of the scene, and in the game you get a more detailed image.
